Roatan Snorkeling, Scuba, & Dolphin Swim Camp Tips

Most of the water activities at AKR's Dolphin Discovery SCUBA Camp will require your child to use snorkeling gear. Ill-fitted gear may impair or prevent your child from participating in certain activities.

We strongly recommend that you visit your local diving retail center and consult with a trained sales professional when selecting snorkeling equipment for your child. Snorkeling gear is available for sale or rent at Anthony's Key Resort, however selection may be limited.

Once you have made your selection, have your child test their equipment at a beach or in a swimming pool. The mask could even be tested for leaks in a bathtub. Fins should fit snugly, but not too tight. If fins cannot be tested in the water, have your child sit and wear the fins for a few minutes just to make sure that they are comfortable. A little extra time spent on selecting snorkeling gear will insure a safe, enjoyable activity and instill self-confidence in your child while in the water.

Please remember to bring beach towels for your child, as the resort does not supply them. Have your child wear insect repellent and sunscreen while attending the camp.
